Learning in Pieces

As part of the wider Jigsaw Learning Hub, Learning in Pieces is a evolving series of short, self-paced professional development courses developed by Jigsaw.coach founder, Caroline Beckett. Each course has been designed to provide a focused exploration of one model, framework or professional concept in approximately two hours of learning.

The intention is simple: to create accessible, engaging and thought-provoking learning experiences that fit alongside busy professional lives whilst still offering genuine depth and meaningful reflection.

Learning Designed for Real Professional Contexts

The Learning in Pieces series has been created with a simple belief in mind: professional learning should feel useful, engaging and readily applicable to everyday practice.

These biteszie courses do not simply provide information – they invite learners to pause, think differently, notice patterns, question assumptions and consider how ideas can translate into their own professional contexts.

Sometimes a single concept can shift how we lead, coach, supervise, facilitate or work with others. Sometimes one small piece changes how the whole picture is understood.

Small Pieces of Learning.  Bigger Professional Insights.

Each course explores one carefully selected topic and breaks it into manageable, meaningful pieces. Rather than overwhelming learners with information, the courses encourage curiosity, reflection and practical application.

Learning in Pieces courses have been created for: business owners, leaders and managers, HR and people professionals, coaches and mentors, supervisors and facilitators, anyone interested in developing their thinking and professional practice.

Whether you have ten minutes available or wish to complete a course in one sitting, the learning is designed to be flexible, practical and immediately relevant.

Each course includes a blend of:

  • Video and audio tutorials with Caroline Beckett
  • Downloadable handouts and resources
  • Articles and infographics
  • Reflective activities and exercises
  • Practical models, frameworks and tools

Professional conversations often feel difficult not because people lack ideas, but because conversations can quickly become unfocused, solution-driven or unclear in purpose. This short course explores the GROW Model as a simple yet powerful framework for creating structure, thinking space and purposeful action.

Exploring practical examples and reflective activities, learners will consider how a clear conversational framework can support better questions, deeper reflection and more meaningful outcomes across coaching, leadership and professional practice.

Decisions are rarely shaped by individual factors alone. Organisations and professionals operate within wider political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental systems that continually influence priorities, opportunities and challenges.

This course introduces PESTLE as a practical thinking framework that supports strategic awareness and broader perspective-taking. Learners are invited to explore how looking beyond immediate issues can strengthen decision-making, increase curiosity and encourage more systemic thinking in professional contexts.

How we show up professionally often shapes our effectiveness as much as our technical expertise. This course explores the API Model and considers the interconnected relationship between authority, presence and impact.

Through reflection and practical application, learners will examine how credibility, self-awareness and intentional presence influence relationships, conversations and outcomes. The course offers opportunities to consider not only what we do professionally, but also how we are experienced by others.

Many professionals spend their days responding to what feels urgent whilst finding little time for what matters most. This course explores the Eisenhower Matrix as more than a time-management tool; it is an invitation to examine habits, assumptions and patterns of decision-making.

Reflecting on scenarios and reflective activities, learners will consider how greater intentionality can create space for strategic thinking, meaningful priorities and more sustainable ways of working.

Professional practice does not happen in isolation. Every conversation, relationship and decision sits within a wider system of influences and perspectives. This course introduces the Seven Eyed Model of Supervision and invites learners to explore multiple lenses through which professional experiences can be understood.

Through practical examples and reflective activities, the course encourages deeper noticing, broader perspective-taking and a more systemic appreciation of the complexity that exists within professional relationships and practice.
